Short DescirptionThe Swiss IC Award acknowledges and celebrates Swiss business organisations, SMEs and start-ups that are helping to make a difference in addressing the global challenges in the scale-up phase. By recognising outstanding projects, the IC Award showcases Switzerland as a leading hub for innovative approaches to international cooperation. It also involves local communities as key actors in finding sustainable solutions and positions Switzerland and its partners as pioneers in promoting sustainability and resilience on a global scale.
About Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is Switzerland’s international cooperation agency within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). In operating with other federal offices concerned, SDC is responsible for the overall coordination of development activities i.e. South Cooperation and Global Cooperation as well as Cooperation with Eastern Europe and the Humanitarian Aid delivered by the Swiss Confederation.

Does your startup or business address pressing global challenges and makes a difference in in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals while fulfilling environmental and social sustainability criteria yourself/yourselves? Does your innovation contributes towards an inclusive and sustainable economic growth? Or does your engagement include an indirect contribution to promoting sustained, inclusive und sustainable economic growth and adds value to one of the following SDG’s, your application is welcome.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA • Your organisation must be an established legal entity incorporated in Switzerland (e.g. for-profit, non-profit, social business, association, etc.). • Your organisation must be financially self-sustaining1 . ̵ Your organisation must be at least at the early stage with a tested and implemented solution or product. • Proof-of-concept on real-life cases is required • Your project or business must address pressing global challenges and contribute to sustained, inclusive und sustainable economic growth according to the detailed description in the introductory text (contributions to the SDGs mentioned) • Your project or business must offer an innovative approach or solution not yet implemented by others. ̵ Your organisation must align its processes with ESG criteria and strive for zero emissions ̵ Your team must be willing to pilot the project in an emerging market or developing country, working closely with local actors and utilising SDC resources and expertise • You should be eager to collaborate with stakeholders like government representatives, international organisations and industry leaders to drive positive change in developing countries • Your team must be able to attend the International Cooperation Forum in Zurich on the 27 and 28 February 2025.
