Global call for innovations using Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to tackle environmental issues affecting people and planet by DPI for People and Planet Innovation Challenge

The DPI for People & Planet COP30 Innovation Challenge invites innovators worldwide to develop groundbreaking solutions leveraging Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), including digital ID, digital payments, and data exchange. Innovators are encouraged to address critical challenges across sectors such as energy, transport, forestry, agriculture, and beyond, creating scalable impacts for people and planet.
This first-of-its-kind initiative aims to engage global innovators in designing climate solutions using Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). It is intended to go beyond a one-time competition, with a focus on mission-critical use cases and a showcase at COP30. The ambition is to enable real-world pilot implementations in the months that follow - supported by global funders, implementers, and DPI custodians.

The challenge is open to any legally registered organizations—including research institutions, startups, social enterprises, established companies, and non-profit organizations - and welcomes both new ideas and existing solutions that can be enhanced through the integration of DPI.
Applications are encouraged from all regions of the world, with a preference for solutions targeting Global South. We welcome solutions addressing any People and Planet-related challenges, including but not limited to
