Criteria(Please refer to the website for eligibility criteria)

Calling on startups to submit their innovations for cheese alternatives
• Whether products, groundbreaking ingredients or process technology
• True innovation in categories that show the greatest potential for improvement, with a focus on alternatives to hard cheeses and sliced cheeses
• Also open to extraordinary alternatives for other types of cheeses

Registered business and geography
• Company is legally registered in Europe or other regions. Details in the Terms & Conditions.
Market approval
• Product is approved for sale in Germany, and meets all applicable food safety and regulatory standards.
Innovative product or technology
• Product brings something extraordinary to the table - whether it’s a delicious cheese alternative, or an innovative ingredient or technology that can revolutionize the production of cheese alternatives.
Market readiness
• Products should be market-ready and suitable for retail distribution. For ingredients and processing technologies, we encourage you to showcase your potential to integrate seamlessly into production processes and scale effectively for plant-based cheese alternatives.
Certification
• You hold valid IFS higher level or BRCGS food certifications for finished products, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Shelf life
• If you have a finished product, it has to have at least 10 days of remaining shelf life upon delivery.
Branding agreement
• Please be aware of the fact that Lidl’s finalist prize includes selling the winning cheese alternative under its Vemondo private label brand.
